FREQUENCY OF INSPECTION
Most Lifting Equipment under LOLER is examined on a 12 monthly basis. However examinations on lifting tackle in particular needs to be carried out every 6 months.
If the equipment is involved in the lifting of people that becomes a 6 monthly inspection i.e. passenger lifts, cranes or Fork lifts with man baskets.
When new relevant documents become available we will add them to this area and ensure that they are kept updated.
However the legislation has many grey areas where the frequency can be extended by our engineers if they deem it fit to do so. For instance vehicle lifts are done every 6 months as the HSE issued a guidance note to that effect even though LOLER states every 12 months.
